Mel’s Drive-In Cars Removed, More Sahara Traders Props Added for Halloween Horror Nights 2025

Universal Studios Florida is almost ready for Halloween Horror Nights 2025. On Monday, we spotted more props in Sahara Traders, queues and signage throughout the park, and a new merchandise display in Universal Studios Store.

Universal Studios Store

A store display with gothic décor, framed art, skull themes, and shelves of merchandise in a brightly lit shop.

Universal Studios Store in Universal Studios Florida has a new haunted display for HHN merchandise. It includes damask wallpaper and decrepit furniture. There are broken green stained glass windows on this set and other shelves.

Gothic-themed store display with eerie artwork, candles, a mannequin in a spooky t-shirt, and ornate decor.

Above the fake fireplace is framed HHN artwork. A red skull painting is also on display nearby. An empty frame is in a dirty old chair.

A gargoyle statue is in a crate atop some shelves. HHN merchandise featuring gargoyles is on display in this space.

Wooden display with four empty picture frames, shirts hanging on the side, and a man walking by in a store.

There are empty frames on the back and sides of these shelves. One frame holds a simple drawing of a boat at sea.

Display of Halloween-themed shirts, hoodies, and souvenirs in a well-lit store with decorative props.

There are more shelves surrounded by vines, just like the scare zones throughout HHN 34, which are all set in The Conservatory.

The windows match motifs on the HHN merchandise.

Minion Land

Near Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a banner points to four haunted houses. The banner seems to confirm that guests will wait in one queue inside the park, then queue up for the individual houses once backstage:

  • Five Nights at Freddy’s
  • WWE: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks
  • Grave of the Flesh
  • Terrifier

Universal Music Plaza Queue

Speaking of queues, there is a large queue set up in the Universal Music Plaza with temporary fencing. The fencing near the front of the queue is now covered by black Halloween Horror Nights covers.

Sahara Traders Tribute Store

Skeleton in a glass case with people and ancient Egyptian-themed decor in a dimly lit museum or exhibit hall.

New props inside Sahara Traders, which will be the event’s Tribute Store, include this tall skeleton. It’s partially inside a glass display case blocked by stanchions.

Large skeleton in a Roman helmet displayed in a glass case inside a themed, dimly lit gift shop with people around.

The skeleton wears a helmet and a tattered loincloth with a bronze buckle. The Tribute Store is themed to the fictional Museum of Antiquities, so all the props resemble ancient artifacts.

The check-out counter has new decals resembling postcards, flyers, brochures, and more from the museum. The postcards have artistic renditions of ancient scenes, figures, and artifacts. Some might look familiar — keep your eyes peeled for Poseidon and his old enemy, Lord Darkenon.

A collection of colorful postcards and event flyers scattered on a gray tabletop.

A flyer advertises the grand reveal gala of the Pithos of Epimetheus, also mentioned on Tribute Store banners and signs. The gala is scheduled for August 29 — the first official night of Halloween Horror Nights.

Assorted colorful event tickets, maps, and cards spread out on a tabletop with a cord and partial purple lighting.

There are museum admission tickets and tickets for the gala event. The back of a brochure lists upcoming events.

A museum map, postcards, and pamphlets are spread out on a blue tabletop under colorful lights.

There are maps of the museum’s ground floor north wing, including the Wonders of Egypt exhibit and hedge maze. The Pithos of Epimetheus is also on the cover of a brochure.

Two framed posters for museum exhibitions hang side by side on a dark wall, featuring vintage-style designs and text.

Two new posters along the Revenge of the Mummy exit ramp advertise the museum’s offerings. One states they’ve partnered with The International Institute of Antiquities & Explorations for a “Deciphering Legend of Myth” exhibit. The other references the Pithos of Epimetheus.

A museum directory sign listing exhibits by level, with some areas closed for renovations on levels 2 and 3.

There’s a Museum of Antiquities directory next to the posters. They indicate levels 2 and 3 are closed for renovations. Level 1 houses Wonders of Egypt, Marquee Exhibit, Fine Art, and Grand Atrium.

San Francisco

Across from the Beat Builders stage is this possible sign structure covered by black tarps.

Outside San Francisco Candy Factory are the stacks of jack-o’-lanterns wearing witch hats from the 2022 Sweet Revenge scare zone. They’ve returned to HHN for various themed areas over the years — and accumulated a lot of grime. Black and orange bunting lines the candy shop’s entryway.

Mel’s Die-In

The vintage cars are gone from outside Mel’s Drive-In. The restaurant will once again become Mel’s Die-In for HHN, but host the Mel’s Die-In Zombies “street experience” for the first time featuring zombie carhops. The cars being removed gives the experience more space.

The HHN Bar (Battery Park)

A sign for The HHN Bar is now on the archway in Battery Park. Universal released the full menus with prices for HHN 34.

World Expo

People walk past outdoor kiosks selling merchandise near a modern building under a partly cloudy sky.

A pair of merchandise carts have been added to World Expo, outside MIB Gear Shop. They carry HHN merchandise.

Nightmare Fuel Queue

Queue fencing is set up outside the Fear Factor stage for Nightmare Fuel: Circus of Decay. Like some of the fencing in the Music Plaza, these fences have HHN covers.

Halloween Horror Nights officially begins on August 29, after Premium Scream Night on August 28. It runs through November 2.
