Avengers Campus Construction Progresses at Disneyland as More Canopy Framework Added

The canopy connecting the two new ride buildings in Avengers Campus has grown significantly as construction of the land expansion continues in Disney California Adventure.

Avengers Campus Expansion Construction Update

Last month, Walt Disney Imagineering shared that the canopy connecting Avengers Campus’ two new attractions — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — was officially being assembled. Our reporter verified the progress, as well as noting that there were several more pieces of framing on the ground.

Those framework pieces have now been installed, significantly increasing the size of the canopy structure.

A group of people, including families with children, walk towards the entrance of "Avengers: Infinity Defense" attraction in a sunny, futuristic Avengers Campus setting with vibrant lighting and greenery.

Concept art indicates this canopy will actually partially cover the Stark Flight Lab attraction. The canopy will get a roof, but the white beams will remain exposed.

The expansion to Avengers Campus will nearly double the size of the land at California Adventure and add two new rides alongside Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT! and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Avengers: Infinity Defense is expected to be a 3D attraction using the same system as Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure at Tokyo DisneySea. Guests will join Marvel super heroes as they jump across the multiverse battling King Thanos, an alternate version of the villain who won.

The second new ride will be Stark Flight Lab with Robert Downey, Jr. returning as Tony Stark / Iron Man. Guests will board “gyro-kinetic pods” that are lifted into the air by robotic KUKA arms for “flight tests.”
