X user Ashley Suit says the cast member is her friend Robert, a former stunt performer who now performs as the show’s “director.” According to Suit, Robert received six stitches and is recovering in the hospital.

WDWNT was previously informed that Robert was recovering and Disney’s safety team is reviewing the incident.

On December 30, the show’s giant boulder bounced off its track during the opening scene. It flew towards the crowd but Robert stopped it from hitting guests. He was forcefully knocked to the ground. Other cast members helped him to his feet and he appeared injured. Though the boulder is not real rock, it is still 400 lbs of rubber and can cause serious damage.

See the incident in the video below.

The show is still performing today but without the boulder.

Robert and some of his fellow performers were highlighted by Walt Disney World in the following 2016 video about Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. At the time, Robert performed as the German mechanic.
