After making $345 million in its opening weekend, Avatar: Fire and Ash has surpassed $869 million globally, still on track to cross $1 billion.

It has made a cumulative $250.2 million in the U.S.A. Despite the large sum, it is still running behind its predecessors; the first Avatar generated $268.8 million in the first 13 days. It ultimately grossed $749.9 million in the U.S. during its first theatrical run, while Avatar: Way of Water grossed $684 million.

James Cameron returned to direct the film, with the cast including Sam Worthington, and Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Kate Winslet, David Thewlis, and Michelle Yeoh.
Avatar: Fire and Ash will be Disney’s third 2025 theatrical release to make $1 billion after the live-action Lilo & Stitch and Zootopia 2. The latter is Disney’s highest-grossing animated film of all time.
Disney was the only studio to make $6 billion in 2025.
