As of January 1, 2026, all Sprinkles Cupcakes locations have permanently closed, including the store in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.
Sprinkles Cupcakes Closed

We confirmed the Disney Springs store was closed on Thursday morning, January 1. The windows and doors are covered with black paper.

A sign outside reads, “This location is closed today, we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Sprinkles is still listed on maps in Disney Springs even though it’s now closed.

However, searching the directory turns up no results.
The location opened in 2016 as part of the Disney Springs reimagining. The webpage for Sprinkles at Disney Springs still exists but no longer lists hours for the location.
The closing of Sprinkles was initially reported by employees who were given one-day notice for their jobs. Founder Candace Nelson, who sold the chain to private equity firm KarpReilly in 2012 and no longer had operational involvement, later confirmed the stores were closing and expressed sympathy for the affected employees.
Sprinkles Cupcakes has yet to make an official announcement or statement.
Nelson founded Sprinkles Cupcakes in 2005. It was called the “world’s first cupcake bakery” and was known for its cupcake ATM. There was previously a location in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort but that store closed in 2023.
