Another Permit Filed for Upcoming Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Refurbishment

Disney filed a permit for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park for the park’s current refurbishment. Due to cold weather, Typhoon Lagoon has closed several times in recent weeks. It closed for the season on February 14 while Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park reopened on February 15.

The permit was filed by Sourcing & Procurement. It contracts Buena Vista Construction Company for “providing labor, material and/or electrical for construction” and expires in one year. The adress appears to be for the Storm Slides, the 3 body slides in the parks.

Typhoon Lagoon will reopen by May 26 to operate simultaneously with Disney’s Blizzard Beach for Cool Kids’ Summer through September 8. During these dates, guests staying at a Disney Resorts hotel can enjoy free admission to a water park on their check-in day.

Two weeks ago, we noticed the filing of another permit, which was for general maintenance. Furthermore, we noticed three new permits for Frontierland, as well as for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
