Shielded in scrim and surrounded by walls, the Big Top Souvenirs tent in Storybook Circus is missing its material in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
Big Top Souvenirs Loses Its Top (and Sides)

Storybook Circus has been in various stages of refurbishment since the beginning of the year, so it was only a matter of time before the main tent was targeted for work.

While it has been behind the blue construction walls for a couple of months, Big Top Souvenirs has remained mostly intact and was even open to guests until a few weeks ago.

Now, striped scrim in the same color scheme as the tent surrounds it (see the photos above for reference), the tent material has been removed, and the skeletal framework of the top of the building is visible.

According to the Walt Disney World website, Big Top Souvenirs “is expected to reopen for Guests to enjoy later this year.” Big Top Souvenirs sells a variety of merchandise, including toys, plush, and pins, plus has a confectionery counter in the center. Guests can still shop for this merchandise throughout the park and get sweets at the Main Street Confectionery.
Storybook Circus Refurbishment

Last fall, Disney filed construction permits for both Big Top Souvenirs and Pete’s Silly Sideshow. The latter closed in early January, and its meet and greets moved outside. The tent roof has been completely removed. A reopening date for Pete’s Silly Sideshow is also not available.
