Disney World Dropping ‘Rafiki’s Planet Watch’ Name Ahead of Bluey Takeover

It looks like Rafiki’s Planet Watch will have its original name restored when “Bluey’s Wild World” arrives at the Disney’s Animal Kingdom land this summer.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch and Conservation Station Name

All references to Rafiki's Planet Watch seem to be gone from the Walt Disney World website. Searching for "Rafiki's Planet Watch" yields no results. As pictured above, every offering in the area is now listed as being in "Conservation Station" rather than "Rafiki's Planet Watch."

When Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened in 1998, the area was simply known as Conservation Station. Disney added the Rafiki’s Planet Watch name in late 2000, hoping to drum up interest in the animal care center with a reference to The Lion King.

The main building was still Conservation Station, however, and housed different attractions and areas like the Veterinary Treatment Room, Nutrition Center, Science Center, and Animation Experience. Outside was the Affection Section petting zoo.

In the park, Rafiki’s Planet Watch signage has been covered or removed.

Though Disney hasn’t confirmed a name update, it looks like the entire area will once again be Conservation Station, removing a layer of potentially confusing names from the space.

All official announcements regarding the new Bluey experience have only referred to Conservation Station.

The new offering will be called “Bluey’s Wild World” and it’s set to open on May 26, 2026, just in time for Cool Kids’ Summer. Affection Section will be renamed Jumping Junction and now house animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia.
