The head chef of Disneyland’s most high-profile dining venues has left the company after nearly three decades of work at the resort and overseeing the reopening of Napa Rose after its nearly yearlong refurbishment.
Disneyland Resort has lost one of its longtime culinary leaders, as MickeyVisit reports that Chef Andrew Sutton has departed Disney after roughly 26 years with the resort. No specific reason was given for his departure, and no announcement regarding his replacement has been made as of writing.
As Culinary Director of Signature Dining, Sutton oversaw several of Disneyland Resort’s most high-profile dining locations, including Napa Rose, Carthay Circle Restaurant, 21 Royal, and the exclusive Club 33.
Sutton joined Disneyland in April 2000 as executive chef for the launch of Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Sutton previously worked at Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley, attended The Culinary Institute of America, and earned the Antonin Carême Medal from the San Francisco chapter of the American Culinary Federation.

His departure comes only weeks after Napa Rose completed a nearly yearlong refurbishment and reopened with a refreshed menu and dining experience. You can check out our full tour of the renovated space here.
The change also arrives during a broader leadership shake-up across Disney, with Josh D’Amaro set to become CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Thomas Mazloum moving into the role of Disney Experiences Chairman, and Jill Estorino becoming President of Disneyland Resort.
Have you had the chance to dine at one of the locations previously overseen by Sutton? What was your dining experience like? Let us know your thoughts on these restaurants and Sutton’s sudden departure on social media.
