Railings on the exterior of The Magic of Disney Animation building in Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been painted green. The building previously housed Star Wars Launch Bay.
Animation Courtyard Painting

The center columns of the facade were painted a beige color earlier this month. The freshly painted railings are to either side of these columns, along the edge of a roof overhang. They were previously white with paint primer.

They are now a shade of green similar to the construction walls below. Concept art of the reimagined courtyard indicates green will be a secondary color in the area. When the building was Star Wars Launch Bay, the railings were black.

The railings on the overhang of the nearby The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure theater were painted brown last month. The theater will be renamed the Studio Theater with the reimagining of Animation Courtyard.

Green railings are only slightly visible through trees in the above concept art, but the courtyard also features green shades on the lampposts and Disney Jr. theater. The rest of The Magic of Animation building will also be painted beige with red stripes and blue accents.

The railings are absent from the animation building in this aerial concept art but it seems like they are sticking around. Though the overhang is not accessible to guests, the railings are a safety feature for crew members.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and consequently the courtyard will open on May 26. Disney has not announced an opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation. The attraction will include six new meet and greets, an art class hosted by Olaf (instead of live artists), and a playground inspired by Mary Blair’s Alice in Wonderland concept art.
