Scrim and scaffolding now surround Big Top Souvenirs at Magic Kingdom for a tent refurbishment. Big Top Souvenirs closed in February after the neighboring Pete’s Silly Sideshow closed in early January.
Storybook Circus Refurbishment

Though the Big Top Souvenirs tent has been surrounded by construction walls for weeks, this is the first sign of scaffolding and scrim. It covers most of the tent on the park side, but does not extend backstage.

For now, the scrim is just plain beige. But Pete’s Silly Sideshow received themed scrim after a few weeks, so something similar might be installed at Big Top soon.

Some of the banners are missing from the side entrance of Big Top Souvenirs. Behind the remaining sign, it looks like the door frame was removed.
Permits filed in January for both Big Top and Pete’s indicate the refurbishment work is focused on the tent exteriors. The roof of Pete’s was removed and we’ll likely see the same thing happen to Big Top soon.
Currently, Minnie and Goofy are meeting at the entrance to Storybook Circus while Donald and Daisy are meeting by the train station. The train station mural was recently refreshed.
