BREAKING: ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Coaster Installation Has Begun at Hollywood Studios

Just days after we saw ride support columns staged near the site of the new Monsters, Inc. Door coaster, we now see vertical installation of those coaster supports.

The vertical wide columns are the first support parts to be installed at the construction site for the coaster. The support columns are the wider black poles in the distance. They are behind the black light poles that are between the parked cars and the construction area.

The crane in the photos is for lifting these and future construction materials into place as the project continues.

Based on the door vault scene from the first film, the Monsters, Inc. coaster will be Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster and vertical lift coaster. It will be located at the end of Monstropolis, which is currently being constructed on the site of the former Muppets Courtyard.

The model for the coaster, including the track layout, was revealed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024.
