‘Encanto’ Ride Entrance Takes Shape at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

An entrance is taking shape for the new Encanto ride under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The ride will be part of the Tropical Americas land replacing DinoLand U.S.A.

There is now a peaked roof at the ride’s future entrance. It’s at the end of the short queue structure jutting out of the taller show building. You can see more of the new structure’s dimension on the far left in our photo below.

Though the ride’s facade will be Casita, guests won’t enter through the house’s front door. Instead, they’ll enter through a building on the side, a little further down the hill. That’s what this new structure is.

You can see the entrance building(s) to the left in the above pictures of the Tropical Americas model. It will include the ride’s initial queue. The set up is similar to The Haunted Mansion, where guests enter through the graveyard and a door below the house.

Crews continue to clear trees from the former Cretaceous Trail, which will be home to a new playground. Part of the covered outdoor queue of the former DINOSAUR is visible through the remaining trees. DINOSAUR will become a new Indiana Jones ride.

As we reported earlier this week, crews are removing roofing from Restaurantosaurus, which will become a hacienda restaurant. Much of the ground in front of Restaurantosaurus has been excavated, potentially for the land's new fountain and surrounding trees, which you can see in the concept art below.

The fountain is where villagers of the fictional Pueblo Esperanza gather to tell stories. The concept art also showcases the new facade planned for Restaurantosaurus and the nearby carousel.

Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures will also be reimagined and reused for the new land. After a sign was finally removed a few weeks ago, we saw crew members working on part of the shop's roof. Supports for old signs and billboards have now been removed.
