Near the exit to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, crews have torn up pavement where there was once a merchandise kiosk.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Exit Construction

Since rolling planters surrounded this space last month, the construction footprint has expanded slightly. Previously, the planters cut behind the post on the right that is now blocked by shrubs. This cuts off a small flight of stairs leading out of the theater, but the main exit is still open to the right.

Signs of work began in this area when a net shade was removed a few weeks ago. A themed shed was removed later.
The merchandise kiosk never reopened following the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown. The kiosk’s prop truck was removed in 2021. The area has since been used as a home for outdoor vending carts and special meet and greets.

Behind the planters, we saw that concrete in the area has been removed, leaving behind a large patch of dirt.
Disney hasn’t announced anything new coming to this area, which is a relatively small space outside Backlot Express. But it’s possible a new merchandise kiosk could be constructed.
As for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, the show has been performing without its famous boulder since December after a cast member was injured stopping the boulder when it bounced off its track.
