Rock Around the Shop Sign Removed, More Attraction Painting at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

The Rock Around the Shop sign has been removed, and multiple painting projects are underway now at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Projects will steadily continue as the ride approaches its opening day on May 26, 2026.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Refurbishment

During a visit to the park this morning, our reporter noticed that the left side of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster building had been painted grey. However, she also noticed that the Rock Around the Shop store sign was gone. It used to hang on the wall outside of the entry door.

During a visit to the park this morning, April 16, we noticed that the left side of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster building had been painted grey. However, the Rock Around the Shop store sign is gone. It used to hang on the wall outside of the entry door, as seen below.

This is how the shop entrance looked before the refurbishment began, with the triangular sign on the wall. There was also a guitar sign in the plants.

As of today, April 16, the guitar sign is still there.

So far, only the left side of the building has been painted gray. The right side is still the light tan that matches the entrance area.

Painting continues on the guitar, which now appears to be blue. Two days ago, the guitar appeared to have its cherry red paint removed and primed for more painting.

From a different angle, we can see parts of the guitar are still pinkish, which could be primer or a part of the finished look.

The new guitar design, inspired by Fozzie’s Studebaker, should keep the overall red color that it had before, according to the concept art. The front will receive a groovy makeover that mimics that of Fozzie’s car from The Muppets Movie. The front should have a rainbow of colors, swirls, and stars.

It is expected to appear quite similar to the refurbished upside-down car near the front of the courtyard entryway.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

The Muppets band jams in a studio as fans watch and snap photos—like concept art come to life.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed permanently on March 1. Check out our last look at the original version of the roller coaster.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will still take guests into G-Force Records on a V.I.P. tour. But the studio has been taken over by Muppets.

We now have the full song list for the ride as well:

The band performs their original song “Can You Picture That?” at their sold-out show, likely visible on a screen at the ride’s exit.

The Electric Mayhem consists of Dr. Teeth (Bill Barretta), Animal (Eric Jacobson), Floyd Pepper (Matt Vogel), Janice (David Rudman), Zoot (Dave Goelz), and Lips (Peter Linz). They replace Aerosmith as the attraction’s featured band, although Scooter, Kermit, Miss Piggy, and penguins will all appear in the ride’s pre-show.
