The new Sorcerer Mickey hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently tested its magical lighting in the evening. The hat is part of the facade for The Magic of Disney Animation, a new version of an old attraction opening this summer. We previously reported that lights were visible on the hat.
Sorcerer Hat Lighting Test

TikTok user @hisnameismaxx shared the following video of the hat that is credited to the account @coaster24/X. The small lights across its surface illuminate in various wave patterns.
The hat is inspired by the facade of the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California but also pays homage to the park’s former sorcerer hat icon.
The former Animation Courtyard is being transformed into the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, including character autographs and handprints in the pavement. Inside The Magic of Disney animation, guests will encounter characters, learn to draw with Olaf, and play on an Alice in Wonderland playground.
While the reimagined Animation Courtyard, inspired by the Walt Disney Studios, is expected to open on May 26 with the new Disney Jr. show, an opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation has not been announced.
