Rafiki Removed From Rafiki’s Planet Watch Sign at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Rafiki statue has been removed from the Rafiki’s Planet Watch sign at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ahead of the Bluey’s Wild World opening. Potentially, the entire sign has been changed. As we learned back in March, the area will no longer be named Rafiki’s Planet Watch but simply as Conservation Station.

The Rafiki statue has been removed from the Rafiki's Planet Watch sign at Disney's Animal Kingdom ahead of the Bluey's Wild World opening.

The sign was covered in February after Rafiki’s Planet Watch closed for the Bluey takeover. It has a new tarp now and it’s clear the Rafiki statue that previously hung onto the right side is gone. We can’t tell if there are other changes but it’s possible the “Rafiki’s Planet Watch” lettering has also been removed. The sign appears to be the same shape so hasn’t been fully replaced.

Below is a photo of the sign from before the closure.

Bluey’s Wild World will open for the start of Cool Kids’ Summer on May 26. The experience will include games, dancing, and a meet and greet with Bluey and Bingo. They are expected to appear where The Animation Experience took place while a new Animation Academy will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this summer.

Affection Section will become Jumping Junction, now housing animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia.

The park will also offer Bluey-inspired treats.
