Jim Cummings, the voice of Hondo Ohnaka, recorded his lines for the new The Mandalorian and Grogu mission of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run a year ago.

X user Raider Lost in the Parks (@TustinRaider) shared that Cummings recorded Hondo’s new dialogue “about a year ago.” He also rode the test rig at Imagineering “several dozen times” to test every possible flight scenario and became an expert pilot, gunner, and engineer in the process.
Cummings talked about the new mission on a Star Wars panel at Comic Con Revolution Ontario this weekend. The panel, “Expanding the Galaxy: Creating Stories in the Star Wars Universe,” was hosted by Jonathan London and also featured Timothy Zahn (creator of Grand Admiral Thrawn) and Christian Gossett (creator of the two-bladed lightsaber).

Though the new mission doesn’t officially debut until May 22 — the release date of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu — the ride’s pre-show has already changed at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
All references to the First Order and Resistance have been removed to go along with the updated timeline of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. It also now implies that Hondo is stealing the Falcon from Chewbacca.
