One of the many Cool Kids’ Summer offerings at Walt Disney World is a pajama party at select resort hotels. Kids can enjoy meeting characters in their pajamas, storytime, and more activities.
Cool Kids’ Summer Pajama Party

Beyond the theme parks, Guests staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will have even more experiences and amenities designed for families with young children this summer, including scheduled visits from favorite Disney pals. While pool parties and campfires are common occurrences throughout the year at Disney World resorts, other activities include:
- Special Libraries: Little ones can celebrate Disney stories in libraries provided by Disney Publishing, where the magic of their imaginations can come alive with tales of princesses, heroes, and more.
- Pajama Party: Wind down with your family during story time! Participate in a “create your own bedtime story” activity, where the magic of a good book comes to life with the arrival of a favorite Disney Character.

Be sure to scan the QR code posted to view the full schedule of recreation and entertainment offerings taking place at your resort.

We visited Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to check out the Pajama Party. All the fun takes place in the lobby, where guests can pose inside a Skyliner gondola cut-out and in front of a Cool Kids’ Summer backdrop.

Nearby are bookshelves with various picture books for all ages. Guests are free to find a spot nearby to read and enjoy them, but please return them after you are finished.

Disney also kindly asked that each family takes only one book at a time.
Storytime

Before storytime officially started, Minnie Mouse came out and roamed around the lobby. She played a few games with kids and interacted with them. Minnie left shortly before 7:30 p.m., which is the start of the bedtime story.

Cast members were stationed in the lobby to read to the group of guests who are gathered. There are round mats so people don’t have to sit on the hard ground.

Craft/Activity Time

After storytime, the craft during our visit was an activity booklet, which allowed kids to share their experiences at Walt Disney World. This is a special keepsake to take home and remember your trip!

Markers, though not pictured above, were provided at the tables for kids to work on their booklets.

The first page has images of Mickey, a paintbrush, a trumpet, a book, and a pineapple and flower. On the opposite page, children can write their name and who they would like to dedicate their bedtime story to.

After a magical day at Walt Disney World, it’s time to go to sleep. Let’s say “good night” to all the things that made me feel so (insert emotion)!
There is a spot to write a favorite place and how going there made them feel.

On the next two pages they can name their favorite character and draw a picture of them.
The next pages are for food and the resort! Guests are encouraged to name and draw a picture of their favorite food, as well as the resort they are staying and their favorite place there.

Guests are invited to draw a picture of their favorite Disney mode of transportation:
Today I saw a lot of things that help people go far and wide! I’ll say “good night” to a (vehicle) I saw. Can vehicles sleep tight?

The final page is for drawing their favorite memory they made that day. The back lists each of the resorts participating in these activities. These booklets are likely the same at each resort.
Meet and Greet

Minnie came back out around 8:00 p.m. for a more formal meet and greet opportunity. She was wearing her blue velour pajama set, which has pink polka dots and white lining. Her bow matches!
Minnie was the only character we met during our visit, but we have seen reports of other characters visiting during this time.
