Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct shared photos of The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure, where the Sindbad Theater is now almost completely demolished.
The “Eighth Voyage of Sindbad” was a popular live-action stunt show at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and it closed permanently in 2018. The 1,700-seat theater is currently being completely torn down.

Not much remains of the theater, as several excavators have been making quick work of what remains of the structure since our last views of the project.

Piles of twisted metal and concrete surround the skeletal remains. At the pace this demolition has progressed, this final section will not be standing for long.
Tree clearing in Lost Continent began last fall after Universal Orlando Resort confirmed upcoming “construction activity” in the land. Universal said this work was to “ensure the area is ready for any future developments.”
Even though “The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad” closed permanently in 2018, the theater and sets stood in full view of guests.
Universal has not announced what land or attractions might replace Lost Continent.
Lost Continent was once twice its current size. In 2010, it was partially taken over by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Its former coasters, Dueling Dragons and Flying Unicorn, were turned into Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff, respectively. Dragon Challenge closed permanently in 2017 and was replaced by Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.
