Sam Witwer, the voice of Darth Maul, made a surprise appearance at Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite.

Witwer has voiced Maul since the character’s return in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He reprised the role Star Wars Rebels, Solo, and several other projects, including Maul – Shadow Lord. The last two episodes of the first season of Maul premiered on Disney+ this May the 4th.

He replaced Peter Serafinowicz, who only said a few words as Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Ray Park provided the character’s physical performance in The Phantom Menace and Solo.

Witwer told fans at Star Wars Nite that they aren’t ready for the finale. He said what’s interesting about the character is his “inner conflict, that turmoil.”

During Star Wars Nite, he wielded his own double-bladed lightsaber and met Maul. See the video below.
