Two space-themed towers near the entrance to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom have been completely demolished. These towers were originally installed as part of the land’s 1994 makeover. Their demolition apparently corresponds to a permit filed for the Tomorrowland bridge last month.
Tomorrowland Tower Demolition
One of the spaceship-like towers on the left side of the land’s entrance (when approaching from the Hub) is gone. In its place is some scaffolding surrounded by beige scrim. The larger spaceship tower is still in place but could also be removed soon.
For comparison, above is what the demolished tower looked like earlier this year.
On the other side of the entrance bridge, a tower with three yellow legs that sat on a tall concrete base is also gone. The rocks that were around the base were removed, too. Green tarps are on the former site near the edge of the moat.

The towers aren’t the first elements of the 1994 Tomorrowland to be removed. The interactive Robo-Newz and GCN phone booth were taken out in early 2019 after the spaceship facade was removed from Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor in 2018.
The Tomorrowland entrance archway was torn down and replaced with a sleeker entrance in 2019. The entrance rocks, another staple of the 1994 update, are apparently sticking around. They were recently repainted.
The latest changes have all come around the opening of TRON Lightcycle Run in 2023, which also included the reimagining of Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. into Tomorrowland Launch Depot.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover debuted new narration in 2022. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin got an updated entrance with the ride’s recent overhaul.
