The ferryboat dock walls installed outside of Magic Kingdom have been extended. We noticed the difference during our visit today, July 27.

Ferryboat Dock Walls

We first noticed the construction walls last week along the edge of Seven Seas Lagoon. Temporary fencing helps direct guests around the walls to the dock, which is still open.

Work doesn’t appear to have started behind the walls, but the dock will eventually extend to this area. Construction is already underway to the east on a floodplain compensation area. See our aerial picture below.

On the left in the above photo, you can see today’s wall is much longer than the one we saw last week (on the right). It extends through the entire walkway that we can see from onboard the boat.

Disney filed a permit for construction in February, and it was approved by the state’s water management district in March. This follows the 2021 addition of second-level ramps for quicker unloading of the boats.

A fourth ferryboat is under construction backstage near Magic Kingdom. The new ferryboat is named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, Walt Disney World’s fourth president. The existing boats are named the Admiral Joe Fowler, the General Joe Potter, and the Richard F. Irvine.
