Young guests can now take charge of their own shopping trips with new kid-sized carts at some Walt Disney World Resort hotels. We spotted them at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Cool Kids’ Summer Shopping Carts

The miniature shopping carts are available inside Ink & Paint Shop, the merchandise location in Animation Hall at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Each cart resembles a scaled-down version of a standard grocery cart, complete with a red metal basket, a child-height handle, and four wheels. The carts are considerably smaller than what you would ordinarily expect from other stores, allowing young shoppers to push merchandise around the colorful resort shop alongside their families.

A rectangular sign mounted near the handle identifies each one as a “Kids’ Shopping Cart.” The sign also displays the full blue-and-orange Cool Kids’ Summer logo. Though they are colorful, the carts do not appear to be specifically themed to the Art of Animation.

For visual reference on the cart size, you can compare the cart in the image above to the height of the adjacent toy shelves, the electrical outlet pictured near the center, or the push bar on the exit door to the right.
The carts appear to be another addition created specifically for Cool Kids’ Summer, giving children a more proactive role as they browse the resort’s toys, apparel, snacks, and other merchandise.
More Cool Kids’ Summer Offerings

Cool Kids’ Summer is taking place across Walt Disney World from May 26 through September 8, 2026. The seasonal celebration includes character appearances, interactive entertainment, activities, and other offerings designed primarily for families with younger children.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is already hosting several other activities as part of the summer celebration. We previously attended the resort’s Cool Kids’ Summer Pajama Party, which included an appearance by Minnie Mouse wearing pajamas. Similar enhanced family offerings are available at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
At Magic Kingdom, Jessie, Woody, Bullseye, and other performers have taken over The Diamond Horseshoe for Jessie’s Roundup. The limited-time western revue incorporates music, dancing, crafts, yodeling, and a jump-rope performance. It is the first regular show presented inside The Diamond Horseshoe in more than 20 years.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is now home to Bluey’s Wild World, an interactive experience featuring games inspired by the animated series, dancing, and appearances by Bluey and Bingo.
EPCOT has also brought back GoofyCore inside CommuniCore Hall, while special pin-trading boards designated for children ages 12 and under have appeared around Walt Disney World.
