Work on the summer Tribute Store is underway, as trusses have been installed outside of the building.
Summer Tribute Store Construction
Trusses have gone up in front of the former location of Williams of Hollywood at Universal Studios Florida in preparation for the new summer Tribute Store. Universal has released a slew of teasers leading up to the opening of the store, which will have a retro Mega Video Rentals video store theme that’s expected to feature movies like “Jaws,” “Ghostbusters,” and “Back to the Future.” Recently, we spotted a few of the teasers hidden in the windows of the as-yet-unopened Tribute Store.
The trusses don’t give us much in terms of what will be added to the facade of the building, other than letting us know that theming is likely on its way.
Preparations for the store have already begun, with guests encouraged to become a part of the Tribute Store by having their photos taken to create personalized VHS tapes that will be featured in the store.
The summer Tribute Store is set to complement Universal’s new Mega Movie Parade, which will debut on July 3. Like the store, the parade will pay homage to classic films that have played a part in Universal Orlando Resort’s history, including “E.T.,” “Back to the Future,” “Jaws,” “Ghostbusters,” and “Jurassic World.”
