Disney and The Elf on the Shelf Launch First-Ever Holiday Collaboration

The Elf on the Shelf is teaming up with Disney for a new holiday collection launching later this year. According to Parade, the collaboration marks the first time The Lumistella Company, the brand behind The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, has brought outside licensed characters into its Scout Elf product line.

The Disney x The Elf on the Shelf collection will include items inspired by Mickey Mouse & Friends, Olaf from Frozen, Disney Princesses, and Spider-Man. The new line will feature themed outfits, props, accessories, kits, and carriers designed to let families incorporate Disney characters into their existing Elf on the Shelf traditions. Products are expected to range from $12.95 to $25.95.

Pre-sales are scheduled to begin on Amazon in mid-July, followed by a September 15 launch on The Santa Store. The collection will later arrive at major retailers, including Target, Walmart, CVS, and Michaels.

Lumistella co-CEO and co-founder Chanda Bell said the original Elf on the Shelf story remains central to the brand, while the Disney collaboration gives families another way to personalize the tradition.

“This first-of-its-kind collaboration will help families celebrate the holidays with their elf being a fan of exactly what they are a fan of. So whether it’s a hanging Spider-Man-themed elf or a Disney Princess in training, these clothes, props, kits and carriers will fuel the fun of the tradition.

Co-CEO and co-founder Christa Pitts said the company has seen families create their own Disney-inspired elf scenes for years, including homemade Mickey ears and Disney Parks vacation reveals.

Pitts also noted that Mickey and Minnie were natural starting points for the collection, while Olaf, Disney Princesses, and Spider-Man were selected because of their sheer popularity and strong appeal with children.

“Our goal was to collaborate with iconic, beloved brands and marry our fandoms in an authentic way. We wanted brands who, like us, dedicate themselves to creating joyful family moments.”

The company also indicated that more Disney characters and stories could be added to the Elf on the Shelf line in future years.

Though Christmas may be seven months away, we know that other preparations for holiday festivities are already underway elsewhere in The Walt Disney Company and at Disney Parks. Casting calls have confirmed the return of two holiday stage shows for this year’s celebration at Magic Kingdom.
