Photos of Menu Items from the France Marketplace at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
*NEW* Fondue Savoyarde: Fondue of Imported Cheeses and Chardonnay served with Croutons – $5.25
The fondue was the best item out of the entire booth. It’s rich and creamy, just as a good fondue should be, but there just wasn’t enough bread to dip in it. Those two slices of sourdough aren’t going to go far with the generous portion of cheese. Admittedly, we ended up eating the rest with a spoon. No shame here.
Croissant aux Escargots: Escargot Croissant with Garlic and Parsley – $5.75
A fan favorite returns this year and *didn’t* increase in price, yay! The escargots are prepared by the expert chefs in France to basically become nothing but garlic and butter. They’re placed inside of the croissant that’s topped with a garlic/parsley butter. This may not be the healthiest option at the festival, but it is unique and delicious. We’re still crazy about it after all these years.
*NEW* Boeuf Braisé à la Bordelaise, Pomme Dauphine: Beef Braised in Cabernet Sauvignon with Red Onions and Puffed Potatoes – $6.50
The beef was tender and the cabernet sauce was good, but frankly, this just reminded us of a Stouffer’s microwave meal. The puffed potato balls were the best part, but that alone is not a reason to order this.
Crème Brûlèe: Crème Brûlèe with House-made Chocolate Hazelnut Cream – $4.75
This creme brûlée is a little watery. Just something about the viscosity is off. The hazelnut flavor comes through strong in the chocolate cream nestled within, so if you’re into Nutella and don’t mind a loose creme brulee, this might not be a bad option for you… but there are better options out there.
La Passion Martini Slushy: Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron, Cranberry and Passion Fruit Juice – $11.00
We love this frozen beverage. It’s a little expensive, but the taste and booziness of the drink are well-warranted. It’s cool, refreshing, and tastes fruity enough to be enjoyable without being too sweet.
*NEW* Chardonnay, Maison de France ($8/bottle)- $4.50
Cabernet Sauvignon, Village la Tourelle, Bordeaux ($12/bottle) – $6.50
From The Wine to Buy: “100% Cabernet Sauvignon in the Bordeaux that will impress you with its refined style and balance. Elegant and restrained with notes of cherry and black currant. The tannins are mellow, which leads to a smooth and supple finish.”
*NEW* Kir à la Grenade: Sparkling Wine with Monin Pomegranate Syrup – $8.50
Here you have an option that’s sweeter than the Chardonnay, but it’s overall very drinkable as it’s served chilled.
Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 Pale Lager Draft (5.0% ABV) – $4.75
From Untappd: “1664 Blanc is an original wheat beer. It is a different, fresh and fruity white beer, slightly bitter with hints of citrus and coriander spices. ”
