Few bars have gone through what Oasis Canteen has gone through, before even opening. Yep, we all remember that “water” pipe rupture. Anyway…
In an effort to expand offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, additional food options have been added throughout the park, but let’s forget about those for now. It’s all about the Oasis Canteen. No, not that Oasis Canteen. (That’s called Epic Eats now.) Oasis Canteen has finally returned as a new, permanent beverage kiosk, just in time for the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge tomorrow, and it and offers a variety of new specialty drinks for guests to enjoy while walking around the park.
The new and improved Oasis Canteen is located near Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Let’s check out the new location and its menu.
The bar offers three signature drinks, all vaguely themed to Indiana Jones. There’s The Lost Jewel, Snake Alley, and Long Lost Island. Also offered here are a variety of assorted beers. If you’re looking for a rum and Coke, you can get that here as well, as a full bar is also available. Only two (2) alcoholic beverages are served per person with valid ID.
From left to right, we have the Snake Alley, Long Lost Island, and The Lost Jewel. These drinks are mixed to order, which is an improvement from any of the drinks that come from a vat or spout in the parks.
Two of these drinks coincidentally include a glow cube, and have the prices to match.
The Lost Jewel – $15.50
Absolut Citron Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, and Sweet and Sour served with a souvenir Glow Cube
You can really taste the peach schnapps in this one, and would pick it over the Long Lost Island in a heartbeat.
But then again, if you know our trajectory, you’ll know we’re partial to blue drinks. Once you make it into Galaxy’s Edge, head over to Docking Bay 7 for a Takodana Quencher. It’s cheaper and arguably better, too. Still, if you’re located off-planet, this isn’t a bad pick.
Long Lost Island – $16.50
Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bacadri Superior Rum, Hendrick’s Gin, Triple Sec, Sweet-and-Sour, Sprite, and Wild Berry served with a souvenir Glow Cube
You can really taste the artificial berry flavors in this one, which kind of ruins the drink, to be honest.
This is arguably the worst of the drinks on the lineup, and it doesn’t merit being the most expensive one, either.
Snake Alley – $10.50
Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Creme de Banana, Melon Liqueur, Sweet-and-Sour, and Pineapple Juice
Served with a slice of pineapple, this drink has all the tropical flavors you’d expect from a “vacation drink”. It’s refreshing and not too sweet. At $10.50 for a solid rum drink, you can’t really go wrong with this one.
Yikes! at those prices, I think I will stick my water bottle!
haha $10 for a mixed drink around NYC/ NJ is par for the course, this isn’t terrible pricing. I love that they have a 2 drink maximum, smart.
