With the Magic Kingdom reopened after being shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, progress has been swift on the upcoming TRON Lightcycle / Run coaster, with the majority of the outside of the show building complete. Currently, the track is being laid and the canopy is about to go up. Let’s take a look at where construction on TRON Lightcycle / Run stands.
Inside the Park
The canopy supports are ready and waiting for their canopy structure to be brought in. The track in this area seems to be fairly complete, and iron support beams are intermixed with the columns of track supports. This is a similar situation to what we saw in our last update.
The exterior of the show building is nearly covered in the blue and grey panels that are being installed. This side is done, while the backside is nearing completion. The white curved pieces that the crew is working on is the structure of the lighted canopy that is soon to be installed.
Outside the Park
From outside the Magic Kingdom, we can see the backside of the building.
The bottom half of the backside has been covered in the blue and grey panels already. Scaffolding on the top half of the structure shows where the panels have yet to be installed.
The roller coaster track can be seen exiting the building at the top corner. This is the same track seen in our “inside the park” shots above, but from the other side.
Progress is being made, slowly. More and more is done each time we check back with this project, so be sure to stick with WDWNT for more construction updates on TRON
Lightcycle / Run in the future. And for more, be sure to watch our on-ride video of this attraction in Shanghai Disneyland below.
The parks are open NOW, right?????
I can’t wait to ride on Tron: Lightcycle Run at the Magic Kingdom Next year! Awesome!
