Hello from another absolutely beautiful day here at the Magic Kingdom! We’ve been spoiled with the last two days of weather here in Central Florida, with near-record highs for this time of year, but all good things must come to an end. We took advantage of the last day of this unseasonably warm weather to check out what might be new in the Magic Kingdom. Let’s get started!
Nearby, the Rivers of America has been completely refilled with water following it’s refurbishment. Work continues on the refurbishment of Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat, which is slated to continue through February 28th.
Work on Liberty Square Market continues, although no visible progress has been made.
Testing continues at Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, with the attraction still closed to guests. We did notice much less occurrences of ride vehicles crashing into one another today.
Work continues on TRON Lightcycle / Run, with workers hammering away at the structure daily.
After weeks of inactivity, workers were seen on the track behind Fantasyland Station today. No new track or railroad ties have been laid, but we’re hopeful that we’ll see some progress soon.
Work continues on the refurbishment of Bonjour! Village Gifts, although it’s future is uncertain now that it has been removed from the latest Magic Kingdom Guide Map. This worker was seen painting or sealing the stucco wall today underneath the awning on the side of the building.
We checked in on the Tomorrowland Terrace Relaxation Station, which was also removed from the latest Magic Kingdom Guide Map. While it appears to have been reduced in size, it is still available to guests.
Splash Mountain was closed for technical difficulties around midday today, and was running empty ride vehicles to troubleshoot the problem. The popular ride did reopen later in the day.
A classic Minnie Mouse princess hat has reappeared after a long absence. This adult-sized hat is the perfect his-and-hers compliment to the popular Mickey sorcerer hat. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We found a few pieces of new merchandise for you today, including this fun new sweatshirt featuring Slinky Dog from “Toy Story”. We found this sweatshirt at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos for $54.99.
Next, we found two new Limited Edition pins at Frontier Trading Post. The first was this one in honor of the Chinese New Year, which retails for $15.99.
The second was this fun, hinged pin featuring Genie from “Aladdin”, and the first in the new Magical Comics pin series. It retails for $19.99.
While these designs are not new this year, we found these Valentine’s Day chocolates out at The Confectionery, perfect for a Disney-lovers sweetheart. The large box retails for $22.99, and the small box retails for $15.99.
We came into the park this morning amid dense fog, and took a moment to admire Cinderella Castle and the Partners statue all wrapped up in it, and wanted to share that moment with you. We had a wonderful day the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
