Disney is greedy
They will price them selfs right out of business
This is just another barrier to me ever being able to visit WDW again. It used to be my happy place but now it is just a money dump.
Disney Board: “No matter what we do, we can’t seem to get rid of all the poor people in our parks!!”
Bob Chapek: “Hold my Dom Perignon!”
Bean Counter Chapek is at it again.
I guess Bob Chapek has decided to embrace his public appearance as only caring about the $$ and squeezing every last dollar out of the parks and guests.
Wow!!,Most are a dollar or more that’s not good. That’s a big increase If they wanted to raise prices a 25 cents increase on things that add’s up. Are the portions getting smaller? There pricing is high enough plus this. Wow!!
Geez!! I hate all these price increases on food. Why can’t they just keep the price the same and offer me a smaller portion? It would probably be good for my waistline.
This is just getting out of hand now……prices increase on everything while the experiences are decreasing…..so tired of everything just coming down to how much can we make instead of let’s put out a good product and when people like it and spread the word and they like it and return business……..now it’s just gouge everyone and who cares
Pay more, get less is their motto!
Inflation guys…food costs are way up…common sense…Disney, Disney, Disney.
Wow. They are insane.
Unbelievable! Disney must want to lose family business. They took away the Magical Express, raised prices of resorts so next time we go, off property sounds good! Now to raise food and snacks prices!!!
I noticed that on the dole whip menu there are no more “snack” icons for the DDP. If Disney is truly committed to brining back the DDP this year, shouldn’t they have had the foresight to include that in new menu re-prints???
It’s because they won’t be bringing back the dining plan
Inflation sucks!
Cheapek strikes again!!!
Gotta love inflation…
less for more money. bob the bean counter’s business model. with everything going on, is anyone really surprised? only a matter of time before bob the bean counter messes with dvc points to make the cheapest stay only two days during the off season. heck, the moron considers giving members a blue card to damn expensive.
I get really tired of an already expensive place constantly raising prices on everything. After the next few years after my kids arent little, I think it will be time to take a break from Disney. As much as I hate to say that
Hi I am from Maryland and have been to Disney World many times ,but it gets harder each time. what would WALT think of this, his park was opened for all families to come from all over and enjoy the park, not to worry about if we can afford the food.Somewhere along Walts dream, money became more important
He would be so sad if he was here. Also if you make portions smaller you will lose in the end. It’s not that hard to leave and eat elsewhere.
can you imagine a world where instead of raising prices, CEOs and members of the board take a paycut? I know, radical! That’s why you need higher ups to both be economically smart, and actually have a soul.
One way to keep the “rif raf” out…Anyone with less than $10M in your bank account keep walking…when did anyone say it was a good idea to go cheap on the guests at Disney???
I have been going to disney for a long time, I don’t mind paying money for good food or the experience , but its getting insane 16.00 pan cakes , 14.00 for dinner rolls at ale and compass , 18.00 salads with very little product on plate , 5.00 for a coke , 230. a night for a camp site, 1100 for a room at the Grand , this will pass , and people will move on to other places like pigeon forge , ocean city, ect. talk to any cast member , disney has doubled there work loads and they hate there jobs now, theres nothing magical about disney, its a unique place that requires 1000 a day for something different but you spend a week or two there and you go home wondering why you spent 10 grand to eat sub par food , you cant get on rides , and you had cast members yelling at people all day long over stupid masks that dont work because management forced them too over Bidens stupid mandates that even the foolish mortal democrats are now saying don’t work. Ha.
No different than the prices that have risen at the grocery store or your local restaurant. My favorite Chinese food take out has changed their prices every month for the last 5 months.
Ridiculous.
Too much. Will stop spending my monies there. Smaller portions for more money?!?! Nope, nope, nope.
My first visit to WDW came in the spring of 1972. Ive been an annual passholder for over 10 years now. For me sadly the Magic at WDW has passed and this will be my last year for an annual pass. With the many perks of the Annual pass going away recently, the price increases just to much for me. I know my leaving WDW really wont effect Disney in any shape or manor, but i take years of memories with me (which im pretty sure if Disney could charge me for those they would, and increase the price) On a good note ill get to spend some time at Universal and visit with Harry Potter.
If this is because of supply costs going up, I guess. But don’t tell me profit isn’t already HUGE on alcohol drinks. Raising a drink from $16 to $17 is absolutely disgusting! These prices are absurd! Disney just feels gross these days. Taking advantage and charging more because people are desperate to travel right now might bite them in the ass later. Instant gratification though right chapek?! Who cares about tomorrow, shareholders are happy right now. That’s all that matters. Walt would hate this thinking
shareholders are not happy. disney stock is tanking under bob the bean counter. i recently got rid of all my disney stock because this moron is proving he has no idea how to run a company except in to the ground.
I’m getting tired of the increases to be honest
Omg this is unbelievable and totally unacceptable. I haven’t been to Disney since 2012 (live in Wales 🏴) because its so expensive. Managed to save enough to book a trip to come in April and now this! I was hoping dining plan would come back but is imagine the price of thst will be heavily inflated now too!!
As a family we love our holidays from the UK to Orlando. We have some of the best memories visiting Walt Disney World but I feel they are really starting to hike the prices year on year, to the point where we will really have to consider if it is financially feasible to visit Disney World on our future holidays. They are pricing a whole load of people out of being able to visit these magical places, such a shame.
WDW is way over priced. No value. Too much to spend all day waiting in line in the hot sun. Just as much fun to go to the beach.
Increase profit and revenue? You do realize that the entire country is being ravaged by inflation? Right? Prices have increased everywhere for everything. Check out the grocery store. I think you’re pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Look at Washington, DC.
They raise prices every year tho. Everything isn’t political.
I think this is just plain ignorant on Disney’s end. My wife and I are taking the entire family down in April, kids and grandkids. So as if the flights (no fault if Disney) and stay at resort weren’t bad enough, now we have to pay for the bus trip to the airport/back, there’s $1000. For what use to be free. Now food prices going up, well of course Disney…squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. We’re looking at about $40,000 for this “Magical” time. We must be nuts.
Tim.
1000 for airport transfers, u must be taking an army.
Great article, disney is unreal. Out of touch with its client…l and no longer earn our business.
We just returned from Disney World and seen the price of a large pizza at the Resort go from $15 to $19. The price increases on food and snacks means that we will bring more food and snacks with us. We took 40 bottles of water with us, which saved us close to $150. Disney is costing us too much money and we probably won’t be back for a while
I recently looked for a vacation for a few days for my family of four. Grand Floridian at 1,250 per night, plus the park passes and, since FastPass is gone, the new app-based line skipper costing $15pp per day (for I think 2-3 line skips per day with the option to buy more). I mean, I’d like to go for my kids but cmon … there are nicer places (esp when you consider the rundown bathrooms and tired park staff). This company has finally got to a place I NEVER thought they would be. Talking to my wife about it, I said “Disney? …. eh it kind of sucks right?” Maybe we will still go, but the lustre is lost for the time being. And that is a real shame.
Yeah, they have priced my family out of going there. We won’t be renewing our annual passes. And I live in Florida. Couldn’t imagine the cost for families from out of town. It’s ridiculous. Prices go up and quality and service goes down.
It is depressing. I used to love it but now there is no way I can afford it. There is no way the majority of Americans can afford it. Disney has a rich following now so they do not care.
