A Mr. Toad popcorn bucket that first debuted at Walt Disney World is now available at Disneyland Park, with a new Disney100 strap.
Mr. Toad Popcorn Bucket – $30
This Mr. Toad popcorn bucket first made its debut in 2022 at Walt Disney World as part of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration in honor of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. The attraction was part of the opening day lineup for Walt Disney World on October 1, 1971. It closed to make way for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in September 1998.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride opened with Disneyland in July 1955 and is still operating today.
Mr. Toad’s iconic red car has golden trim and says “Toady” on the hood.
The wheels of Mr. Toad’s motorcar actually spin.
Mr. Toad was first featured in Disney’s “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad,” which included “The Wind in the Willows.” The 1949 short film is based on the book of the same name by Kenneth Grahame, originally published in 1908. Mr. Toad is afflicted by “motor mania” after seeing his first motor car. The ride had guests joining Mr. Toad on his wild ride from Toad Hall through London and eventually all the way to Hell (seriously).
The back opens up for access to the popcorn, which comes packaged separately in case you want to keep your bucket in pristine condition. This display unit had a bottle of water in the compartment where the popcorn typically goes.
The removable strap has a red and gold diamond pattern featuring various images of Mr. Toad and the Disney100 logo. The Walt Disney World iteration of the Mr. Toad popcorn bucket debuted with a 50th anniversary strap.
The bucket is available at the Fantasyland and “it’s a small world” popcorn carts. We found this one near the Matterhorn. They will be limited to two per person, per transaction. No discounts apply.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was recently closed for a refurbishment but reopened on Friday.
Although Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride no longer exists at Walt Disney World, it is still operating at Disneyland. You can see photos and watch our POV ride video here.

Disney 100 Years of Wonder
Disney 100 Years of Wonder (or Disney100 for short) is being celebrated across the world at Disney Parks and Resorts.
The 100 Years of Wonder celebration began at Disneyland Resort, where guests can enjoy “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. There is a platinum Mickey statue (which had to be fixed because the Walt Disney quote on the base was incorrect) and a platinum Minnie statue.
Disneyland Resort is offering the “Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” guided tour, including a walk through both parks, the drawing experience at Animation Academy, a digital download of a photo taken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 snack, reserved viewing for “Magic Happens” parade, and a limited-edition pin.
Walt Disney World announced monthly themes to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company over the next several months. Disney100 will be celebrated at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their platinum outfits and a platinum Mickey sculpture. A new Spectacle of Light show will debut on Spaceship Earth and, in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will premiere to replace “Harmonious.” Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.
Mirabel will have a meet and greet at Magic Kingdom beginning “this fall” in the Fairytale Garden. She will be replacing Merida, and the area will be redesigned to look like the Casita Madrigal. Check out our full list with locations of Disney100 pressed pennies at Walt Disney World. Other souvenirs include Disney100 silver medallions, gift cards, light-up balloons, and refillable mugs.
