Italy – EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

Epcot Food & Wine 2018 Italy

People stand in line at an outdoor Italy-themed food kiosk, eager to try New Food & Wine under a sunny sky.

Italy, being one of the eleven World Showcase countries, has been a staple at the EPCOT International Food & Wine since its inception in 1996. “Relish the simple elegance of cucina italiana—with the Chocolate Spuma and more.” This year, the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 28 – November 22, 2025.

This is extremely thick and doughy, but for the Italy Booth, this was actually pretty good. Nonetheless, isn’t anything special. It reminded us of something you could microwave at home or get at Pizza Hut.

This was better than it looks, but it still tastes like it was frozen and thrown in the microwave. Tom’s Italian ancestors “would not approve.”

The is a simple, straight-forward chocolate mousse: basic, but edible. There isn’t really much more we can say about this mousse.

*NEW* Sorsi d’Oro ‘Sips of Gold’ Italian Pilsner (4.8% ABV) – $7.50 for 6 oz., $12.00 for 12 oz.

From a product sheet provided to us by a Cast Member, this beer is brewed by Tripping Animals Brewing of Doral, FL for Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar at the Italy Pavilion. This beer “pours a vibrant, golden hue with a crisp and creamy white head that lingers.” It has a “see-through body, showcasing the level of carbonation in this well-crafted Italian pilsner.” The aroma offers “a delicate bouquet of Saphir Hops, showcasing herbal and floral notes reminiscent of the old-world style prevalent in authentic Italian pilsners” with “subtle undertones of jasmine, elderflower, and lemongrass.” For flavor, “Eraclea Malts offers a prominent malty backbone, with flavors of lightly toasted bread and crackers and a touch of honey-like sweetness for a smooth and balanced taste.” It “delivers mild hints of a gentle caramel undertone that enhances complexity without overwhelming.”

Peroni Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $6.50 for 6 oz., $11.00 for 12 oz.

Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.”

Italian Red Sangria – $12.00

Italian Red Sangria – $12.00

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.

Bellini Spritz: Italian Aperitivo Liqueur, Peach Purée, and Prosecco – $15.00

A flute of orange-pink drink and a plastic cup with a similar beverage are placed on a wooden barrel table beside some food items; the scene, capturing the essence of Food & Wine, unfolds against a background of brick-paved area and wooden benches.

The Bellini Spritz is a little syrupy, sticky, and perhaps too sweet, but is likely what most people would want. It’s very crisp and dry.

Italian-Inspired Blood Orange Margarita: Tequila, Triple Sec, and Blood Orange Liqueur – $12.00

A clear plastic cup filled with a pink beverage sits on a wooden surface next to a glass with a similar drink and a beige plate, evoking an elegant scene straight out of Food & Wine.
Italian-Inspired Blood Orange Margarita: Tequila, Triple Sec, and Blood Orange Liqueur – $12.00

We would ask how this is Italian, but considering the Italy Pavilion’s long history of bad and bizarre festival food, we’re probably beyond that question. It tastes like pink lemonade. It’s super tart, like there’s a pound of sugar in one cup. It’s barely passable, which makes it the best thing from the Italy booth.
