Photos of Menu Items for the Italy Marketplace Booth at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
*NEW* Ravioli Carbonara: Parmesan and Pecorino Ravioli, Egg Yolk, Cream, and Bacon – $7.25
For as appitizing as this looks, the ravioli was unevenly cooked. The edges were really hard and the filling tasted really off putting. The bacon garnish did little to save the undercooked pasta.
*NEW* Costine di Maiale: Balsamic-glazed and Oven-roasted Pork Ribs – $8.00
The ribs were extremely fatty and sadly, there was no real flavor them. Just the fat.
For three ribs being offered, not a single one was able to impress us.
*NEW* Pollo: Crispy Chicken with Marinara Sauce – $6.00
These crispy chicken strips are literally Tyson chicken tenders with a side of marina sauce.
Traditional Sicilian Cannoli: Crisp Pastry filled with Sweet Ricotta, Chocolate, and Candied Orange – $4.25
The cannoli is the least offensive item on Italy’s menu. It’s a little small for the price, but that’s probably a good thing, considering it tasted like it was recently defrosted. Though if you really, really want a cannoli, you won’t neccessarily be disappointed by this.
*NEW* Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake: Vanilla Cake and Chocolate-Hazelnut Mascarpone Cream dipped in Chocolate – $4.25
This was by far the best item on the menu. It tastes like a fresh Little Debbie cake. It was soft, moist and fresh. We even got one freshly dipped for us, as you can see above.
*NEW* Peroni Nastro Azzurro Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $5.50
Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.” This beer previously appeared at Primavera Kitchen at the 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
*NEW* Pinot Grigio, Santa Marina ($6/bottle) – $9.00
Total Wine & More describes Santa Marina Pinot Grigio as “pale yellow in color, and contains aromas of citrus, nectarines, and peaces, with earthy notes. A light-bodied palate with a medium amount of acidity, and a short finish.”
*NEW* Chianti, Gabbiano ($7/bottle) – $9.00
Total Wine & More describes Gabbiano Chianti: “The bouquet is reminiscent of ripe plums spiced with pepper and wood nuances. The first sip reveals invigorating flavors of cherry, blackberry, and spice followed by a dry vivid finish.”
Villa Sandi Prosecco ($16/bottle) – $10.00
Villa Sandi describes their wine’s aroma as “…fruity and flowery with hints of ripe golden apple and small mountain flowers.” “The dry, fresh and flavorsome sensation on the palate is followed by a fruity and harmonious aftertaste.”
Corbinello, Montegrande ($15/bottle) – $10.00
Christofanon Montegrande described their Corbinello as “a ruby red wine, from the red-fruit fragrance that recalls marascas and violets. It has a kind wrapping fresh and pleasantly tannic taste.”
Moscato Fior d’Arancio, Montegrande ($18/bottle) – $
Christofanon Montegrande describes Fior d’Arancio as “typical of Muscat, intense but delicate, with clear reminiscent of wisteria, white flowers and citruses.”
