Mexico – EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

A sign reading "Mexico" with decorative borders marks its debut in 1996 at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

People line up at the "Mexico" stand, eager to try New Food & Wine under a partly cloudy sky.

Mexico has been a presence at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival since its inception in 1996. “Take your taste buds south of the border for tostadas, flautas, margaritas and more.” This year, the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival takes place August 28 – November 22, 2025.

*NEW* Tostada de Carnitas: Braised Pork Atop a Fried Corn Tortilla with Chipotle Black Beans, Salsa Ranchera, Crema Mexicana, and Queso Fresco – $8.00

A New Food & Wine favorite: tostada with shredded meat, black beans, cheese, pickled onions, and herbs on a square plate.

This was good, plus the pork was nice and tender. We did feel it was better than previous versions of a similar dish. However, there is nothing special about this particular item.

Flauta de Barbacoa: Fried Tortillas Filled with Barbacoa Beef Topped with Salsa Verde, Romaine Lettuce, Crema Mexicana and Queso Fresco – $8.75

A fried taco topped with shredded lettuce, white cheese, sliced radish, and sour cream is served on a disposable plate next to a drink—perfect for any Food & Wine enthusiast.

This has a nice kick, but the flavors are basic overall. That being said, sometimes you want the most basic version of the thing that you ordered. If you want a flauta that is going to check all the boxes without doing anything overly great, this hits the spot.

*NEW* Flan de Cajeta: Creamy Mexican Custard with Caramel Sauce and Toasted Almonds – $6.75

This is not extraordinary, but if you are looking for something sweet, this will hit all the right notes. Overall, a solid very creamy dish with a nice caramel flavor.

*NEW* Clarita Margarita: Cristalino Tequila, Orange Liqueur, and Clarified Lemon Juice – $13.75

If you want a strong margarita that just tastes like a margarita (or very smooth tequila), this is the drink for you. With the poor track record of Mexico Booth margaritas, this one is possibly the best we’ve had.

*NEW* Strawberry-Pomegranate Margarita: 100% Agave Blanco Tequila, Joven Mezcal, Pomegranate Liqueur, Strawberry Purée, and Spicy Agave – $13.25

A red iced drink in a clear cup with a salted rim—a New Food & Wine treat on a striped yellow and green table.

The tasted overwhelmingly like salted pomegranate and bad liquor. The other margarita tasted much better and is less messy without the sticky rim.
