First reported by Alicia Stella on X, a new Universal trademark application for the name “Cinesational: A Symphonic Spectacular” was filed on March 20, 2024. See Stella’s full Tweet with the trademark application below.

Stella’s tweet quotes a previous tweet from 2023 about another trademark filed for Universal Orlando Resort, titled “Universal Mega Movie Parade,” which includes use in theme parks and a title graphic.

The trademark was filed as a service mark, and was filed for:

Amusement park, theme park, and waterpark services; Entertainment services in the nature of amusement park, theme park, and waterpark attractions; Presentation of live show performances; Providing amusement arcade service; Providing interactive play areas for children and adults; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by costumed characters; Education and entertainment services, namely, conducting guided tours of motion picture and television production facilities including exhibitions and demonstrations; Entertainment services in the nature of escape rooms and attractions; Entertainment services, namely, live entertainment and street performances, particularly, live music concerts and performances, live performances by a DJ, live dance performances, live performances by balloon artists, live performances by stilt walkers; Entertainment in the nature of live shows, live laser shows, and live music shows.

Official details from Universal have not yet been given for the new nighttime lagoon show coming to Universal Studios Florida, but we’ve noticed a number of updates to the lagoon area lately, leading us to believe this new show — rumored to combine drones, projections, and pyrotechnics — is coming soon.

The park’s previous nighttime lagoon show, “Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration,” debuted in 2018 and was retired in 2023, after a hurricane damaged the show’s projectors in 2022.
