Conner Purzycki’s 2/11/13 DLR Photo Report

Feb 11, 2013

I took a quick trip to the Disneyland Resort today and captured a few photos from both Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure. Starting in Downtown Disney, the stage by ESPN Zone is being replaced AMC showing romance movies for Valentines Week  Temporary stage setup down the way  Over in DCA, the Glendale Hyperion bridge was painted again  Here is the other side for comparison which still has the beige color  World of Color just went though two weeks of refurbishment and I noticed some small new things  Some new LED rings on some of the fountains  and also a new mist screen nozzle on the front screen that looks a bit different than the old one  The rear mist screen look the same as they did before. Just the front one is new it seems.  Silly...

Video: New Instant Concert!… Just Add Water With Main Street Electrical Parade Music

Watch as Paradise Bay comes to life with the symphonic sounds of the Main Street Electrical Parade’s Baroque Hoedown. It appears that the show can do a different set of songs when Maestro Goofy is unavailable to conduct the fountains.   The music is from an album recored by The Cincinnati Pops called Disney Spectacular.

Video: Annual Passholders Glow With The Show

Last month, Annual Passholders were invited to attend an after hours event to introduce the Glow with the Show mouse ears. For the past three days, thousands of passholders were given free ears and a private showing of World of Color. DLNT Reporter Max Guggenheim was at one of these parties and got a really awesome multi-angle video of the show and the ears. Enjoy.    Hats are for sale in Los Feliz Five and Dime and many other locations around DCA Annual Passholders can also buy the hat with a Glow with the Show pin and lanyard for $40. Available at Off the...

Guests Can “Glow With Show” With New Interactive Ear Hats

From Erin Glover on the Disney Parks Blog: tarting June 15, Disney California Adventurepark guests will have the chance to light up the night when Glow with the Show Ears become available for purchase at select locations throughout the park. For more than 55 years, the classic, black Mickey Mouse ear hat has been a Disney Parks guest favorite. In 2005, those ears got a golden touch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Disneyland park, and there have been more than 200 different ear hats including limited-edition and novelty ear hats. Now, using the latest interactive technology, our newest ear hats will quite literally let you “Glow with the Show.” Watch as the iridescent ears change to complement and harmonize with what’s happening around you, allowing you to...

Are You “Brave” Enough For World of Color?

From Shawn Slater on the Disney Parks Blog: This time next month, all the new entertainment and attractions at Disney California Adventure park will be open for you to enjoy. I, for one, can’t wait to see everything. June 15 will be a full day of memorable experiences, capped off with the stunning “World of Color” nighttime spectacular! Since “World of Color” made its debut back in 2010, the show has featured occasional updates and surprises, delighting audiences with forays into new worlds ranging from “TRON: Legacy” to “Prep & Landing.” Just in time for one of the biggest summers in Disney California Adventure park history, “World of Color” is set to introduce another new sequence, inspired by the Disney•Pixar film “Brave.” Set to...

Daytime Fountain Show Coming To Paradise Bay????

Adding to the massive list of new attractions and offerings coming to the Disneyland Resort on June 15th, something interesting appeared on the Disneyland calender. A new show Called Melody Time is taking place in Paradise Bay every hour 5 times a day from 11:00 to 4:00. PhineasTheHitchhikingGhost grabbed a pic before Disney pulled it down. It’s only a five minute show so that rules out an extensive stage show on the Palisades Stage. We are assuming it is a new daytime fountain show utilizing the World of Color fountains and may be taking tunes from the 1948 animated feature Melody Time.     While the show may just be using the name, we are not sure if the show will utilize music from Melody Time. Daytime fountains have been tried before with Disney...

World of Color NYE

Happy New Year everybody!!! Just got back from a few days at the Disneyland Resort, so I will start getting everybody caught up on the latest news from the Disneyland Resort. Starting off with a front a center video of the midnight showing of World of Color with the special new years tag at the beginning. It was a very foggy night in Anaheim so about halfway through the show, the fog and the smoke from the fireworks pretty much make the show invisible. Still fun to watch. Enjoy.
