I hope when you shrink to the size of a toy in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you bring a fully grown appetite! We’ll share with you a peek into Woody’s Lunch Box and the tasty treats that you’ll have the opportunity to try out for yourself before Andy returns to finish up his lunch!
Woody’s Lunch Box opens June 30th with sandwiches and sides that compliment the flavors with a dab of modern mixed in with nostalgia. There’s soda floats (yum!) and specialty beverages that the team of Flavor Lab – the concept development kitchen – put a lot of work into when it came to creating old favorites, while also maintaining a modern take on flavor and presentation.
Concept Development Culinary Director for Walt Disney World, Lenny George, explains this about the menu development process that took a year, “Everyone has a special food memory, so it can be tricky putting a modern spin on the favorites. We honored these classic dishes by using the best ingredients to elevate the flavors. How we constructed the sandwiches was important, such as layering the ingredients to elevate the flavors. How we constructed the sandwiches was important, such as layering the ingredients in a specific order, to maximize textures and flavors. Why have a cold sandwich when you can have a toasted hot, gooey cheese-filled one?”
