Just last week, Disney shared a first-look at some concept art from the highly anticipated new nighttime show, “Epcot Forever”. After it launches in October, Epcot Forever will continue its limited-time run into 2020, when it will then make way for the debut of the next epic Epcot nighttime spectacular as part of the park’s multi-year transformation. While Epcot Forever itself requires very little infrastructure, the show that will replace it definitely will. Well, we took a lap around the World Showcase Lagoon to check out the latest construction updates and progress for the new show. Let’s take a look!
Last month, this island closest to the China pavilion was busy with construction cranes and barges .It has since cleared up and all that remains on this side of the lagoon is this sole maintenance boat that appeared to be empty.
The vertical structure in the island close to Japan now appears to be finished. Complete with shrubbery and greenery, it surprisingly hides the structure pretty well.
From this angle, the structure is essentially undetectable.
Here’s another look at the island close to Japan that is now clear of all construction work.
I also spotted some contractors working on the area just behind the fire barge.
Finally, these contractors were working by one of the many new electrical structures spread around the lagoon.
That’s it for this week’s update. Stay tuned to WDWNT.com as we bring you all the latest on these upcoming nighttime spectaculars!
