What a beautiful morning to be out at the Magic Kingdom! The sky was blue, the birds were attacking, and the smell of Speedway fumes were fresh in the air. That’s right! The Tomorrowland Speedway has finally reopened after its refurbishment.
Our first stop of the morning was to take a lap around the new shortened track at the Tomorrowland Speedway. The cars are loud and the smell is strong, but I was excited to take a ride. Unfortunately, many of the cars were stalling, so it took a few minutes for me to get going.
Throughout the day, I saw Cast Members running to the cars stalled on the track to get them going as traffic began to back up. All in all, I think this was a very smooth reopening for the team. Nice work!
While out on the track, you get some up-close views of the Tron construction. It seems like even more track has been added. It’s going to be a great ride!
The future is expensive. Pressed pennies are now $1.
I made the mistake of leaning against the wall by Merchant of Venus, in which I had to peel myself off. This base coat is still sticky for some reason, and you can see the purple through it. If you look up above the door, you can still see purple paint.
Before heading out of Tomorrowland, I noticed even more painting. The walls by Stitch’s Alien Encounter Character Greeting have been marked for painting recently and the wall closest to the entrance has received the first coat of paint. Two shades of orange have been painted. Is orange the new purple?
We stopped in to Casey’s Corner for lunch and were shocked and horrified to find the footlong hot dogs have been removed from the menu.
But you can now find foottlong hot dogs at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.
Cast Members had a section of pathway roped off in Adventureland. Cast Members were claiming that birds in the area have been acting a little crazy, so the area was closed for guest safety.
Tortuga Tavern is still under refurbishment. I hope they bring the sign back.
The work on the pathway widening project is looking good. And I’m happy the ducks are swimming on the other side.
Well, that’s about it for our trip to the Magic Kingdom. Thanks for following us, and be sure to stay tuned for more from around the parks!
I’m so sad that the foot long hotdogs are gone at Casey’s. My favorite was the Mac&cheese foot long.
Do we know a date for the path widening to be complete?
