REVIEW: New Pumpkin Cream Cinderella Cupcake is a Perfect Fit for Our Palates at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Who knew Cinderella has such a sweet tooth?! To honor the 70th anniversary of Disney’s “Cinderella” film, Walt Disney World is celebrating with cupcakes galore. The Contemporary Resort has chosen to theme their Cinderella cupcake after her famous glass slipper and pumpkin, so we tried it out today.

This cupcake features yellow cake filled with pumpkin cream custard topped with blue buttercream, a fondant pumpkin and a chocolate slipper.

While we we always hate to slice through a cupcake this pretty, we also really love eating — so here we go. We’ll start with the bad: like all fondant, the fondant pumpkin is very unpleasant and tasted like Play-Doh. But the while chocolate glass slipper makes up for the pumpkin! We loved it, and it’s very sweet.

Here’s a look at the pumpkin custard center, which definitely has a strong pumpkin flavor and a smooth texture. So delicious! The yellow cake is super moist, and the blue buttercream is not too sweet. It’s also fresh and doesn’t overload the cupcake.

We would gladly eat this again! Because it’s so large, you can definitely share it — or save some for later.

We found the Cinderella Cupcake at Contempo Cafe inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort; it’s $5.99.
