As we reported it would late last month, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House reopened on July 10th, for Disney Vacation Club members only. This was after Disney included it on the list of resorts reopening, then removed it soon after.
Cast Members at the entrance to the resort are wearing masks, ready to answer any questions you may have.
A sign as soon as you walk into the lobby informs guests that if they completed online check-in service and already have their MagicBand, they do not need to visit the front desk. They will instead receive a text message with their room number.
The lobby was largely empty this morning when we arrived.
There were not many Cast Members at the check-in counter. Most guests are likely using online check-in.
Other than the lobby and pool, nothing else on this side of the resort is open. Guests wanting to shop, dine, or use other resort amenities will need to walk or take a resort shuttle to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village. Kidani Village is open for all guests, not just Disney Vacation Club members.
Stepping into the room, let’s see what changes (if any) came to the resort.
Nothing much has changed in the room, though the remotes for the TV are still covered in a plastic bag like we’ve seen at other resorts across the property.
It seemed most of the animals were still sleeping this morning.
The regular features we expect in a Disney resort room, like a coffee maker and microwave, were still present.
Are you staying at a Disney resort hotel soon? We’d love to lay down on the bed and relax, but the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are officially open today, so we’re off to the parks!
Stay tuned with us at WDWNT as we continue to cover the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks as they reopen today.
Wondering why they are not opening the Mara since there is no quick service at Kidani… Any chance this could change by September? Or the pool bar?
