Greetings from Main Street, U.S.A! We are so happy to be back in the Magic Kingdom, as Annual Passholder previews take place in advance of the official park reopening this Saturday. While enjoying some downtime in front of the newly made-over Cinderella Castle, we were excited to spot an all-new processional of characters. In place of traditional character meet-and-greets and parade experiences, a whole host of characters have been making their way through the streets in special, socially-distanced cavalcades, allowing guests to still spot, and take photos of, their favorites. Get ready, because this is the Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade!

Leading the cavalcade is the glorious Gaston himself, confidently riding a gorgeous steed and smirking down at his subjects. He’s definitely getting the attention he requires up there.

Coming up behind Gaston is a bright and colorful float, full of characters for us to wave to. The parade float being used resembles a pile of presents, repurposed from the Move It, Shake It, MousekeDance It! Street Party. Let’s see who is aboard!

On the very top of the float is the adorable Winnie the Pooh, with Peter Pan and Alice on either side at the front.

At the back of the float, we can see Aladdin and Mary Poppins, smiling and waving as they pass by.

At the back of the cavalcade is Tigger, along with the ushers. No dancers are part of this processional, making it considerably smaller than the parades we are familiar with from before the pandemic.

You can check out a full video of the cavalcade here:

Did you enjoy seeing this Fantasyland Cavalcade? If so, make sure you check out the brand-new “A Goofy Cavalcade”, and the magical “Royal Princess Processional”, which are also making their debut in the Magic Kingdom this week!

  1. The heat has been excruciating here in Florida. I am concerned with Gaston’s horse and that its needs for hydration, shade and rest will be provided. Thank you.

    • i’m sure the horses from the cavalcades are being well taken care of, and disney could be rotating them out with others to give them breaks. it’s not like he’s riding the horse around the park for hours at a time. plus, there’s now the tri circle d ranch, where the horses may be kept. i think disney would do what’s in the best interest of the horses too. (i don’t know for sure about any of this, obviously, so if someone has any concrete details feel free to correct me.)
