We’ve recently seen interior decorations and the second floor removed from the Electric Umbrella at EPCOT. Nearby, Innoventions is also being demolished and Mouse Gear refurbished, making way for the future of Future World.
The projects have been ongoing for most of this year, only pausing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The canopy and overhang at the entrance of Electric Umbrella were removed a few weeks ago.
There are several vehicles in front of Electric Umbrella right now, which has been seeing rapid progress. This area will eventually be home to a new Starbucks.
A white tent has been erected outside Electric Umbrella and Mouse Gear.
It can be difficult to see inside the old quick-service restaurant, but it looks like work lights have been hung.
Most of the building is currently exposed, with walls recently knocked down.
Across the way, Innoventions West remains a partially destroyed building.
This area will eventually be called World Celebration, one of four “neighborhoods” in EPCOT. The other three are World Nature, World Discovery, and World Showcase.
What are you most looking forward to with the remodeling of EPCOT? Let us know in the comments.
