It seems that the Force is finally with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as after weeks of technical issues, the attraction was operating perfectly when we visited just yesterday.

Our reporter applied for a boarding group at 10 AM. As has become standard practice for the popular attraction, groups were fully booked in a matter of seconds. Three weeks ago, My Disney Experience had a technical glitch that prevented many guests from even attempting to join a group at the scheduled time.

The first encouraging sign was having the group called just three minutes after booking, more that 20 minutes ahead of its estimate. Recently, the attraction has experienced long downtimes, leading to low numbers of boarding groups getting on.

And once we actually got onto the ride, we didn’t witness a single technical difficulty and got to experience the ride as it was fully intended. This is a major change from the events of the last few weeks. The cannons were fully functional and the droids were all properly lit. (That being said, we did slightly miss R5 haggling with Finn when the ride unexpectedly stops.)

The most intimidating member of the First Order, Kylo Ren, was functioning in A-mode, as the Audio-Animatronic was very visible and active. In B-mode, a film projection features him outside the ship in a TIE fighter. Whether serious maintenance work has been done or the ride just started working properly on its own is unknown, but it’s a welcome sight nonetheless.

Of course, as we exited, the ride went down temporarily once again. Hopefully, it will be back at full strength before too long.
