Guests Who Park Hop to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Will Not Be Able to Ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Park hopping is returning to Walt Disney World in 2021. Guests can attend their first park of the day with a Disney Park Pass reservation and then switch parks after 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, guests park-hopping into Disney’s Hollywood Studios will not be able to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

As Disney said in a press release:

And, to help us manage attendance, upon the return of the Park Hopper option in January, only guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Guests visiting from another theme park will not be able to request to join the virtual queue.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance’s boarding groups are currently distributed at 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM, when park hopping will begin for each day. Many guests had asked us if arriving close to the 2:00 PM boarding group distribution time would give them a chance to score a return time for Rise of the Resistance that day, but unfortunately this is not an option. Guests who attend Disney’s Hollywood Studios as their first park of the day with a Disney Park Pass will still be able to try for a boarding group at those times.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance recently updated its boarding group procedure to open at 7:00 AM instead of 10:00 AM, but of course the system continues to have issues.

Makes sense.
If they allowed guests to hop over before a 2nd boarding group distribution, DHS would get swamped every day around that time.
Those who commit to Hollywood Studios in advance with a Park Pass deserve the opportunity (but not guarantee) to ride ROTR.

So if I have a HS reservation, go and ride ROTR, and then try to hop on over to EPCOT after 2 pm, will I be denied entry?
