BREAKING: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Distribution Times Changing on December 20

Calling all members of the Resistance! Disney is making a slight adjustment to the virtual queue process for one of the most popular experiences at Walt Disney World, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Ahead of the return of Park Hopping at the Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney has released the following virtual queue update:

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 20, distribution times for virtual queue enrollment will be 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Keep in mind, to access the 1 p.m. virtual queue opportunity Guests must have a valid ticket or pass, a Disney Park Pass Reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and be inside the park. Access to a boarding group is subject to availability and not guaranteed.

As a reminder, only Guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. When Park Hopper hours become available on Jan. 1, 2021, Guests visiting from another theme park will not be able to request to join the virtual queue. We encourage these Guests to explore other areas of the park, including in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where they may experience Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run among other offerings.

After some initial confusion, the slight change in hours ensures that guests won’t rush into the park at the 2:00 PM mark in hopes of getting a boarding group. The last change to boarding group procedures took place in November, and at this rate, we’ll likely see even more changes as the phased reopening of Walt Disney World continues.

  1. Im a pass holder resident in Orlando, for 4 times i have been in the park super early and all the 4 times I’ve haven’t been able to get a boarding pass..I have been there with my app ready 15 minutes before 2pm..and when clock strikes 2pm..I have hit my request and nothing..I can’t imagine those who pay full price..for a day…spent money traveling and just have to conform to walk around and not be able to enter the ride..its frustrating..

  2. I just went on Saturday and it is almost impossible to get into the que. There were a dozen people with us and no one got in. It was literally full within 1 second.

  3. Hate to say the Star Wars queue really stinks!!!! You go on at 7am, and by 7 am, yep that’s right, there are no availabilities….same goes for 2pm….so what’s the point???? I’d rather stand in a long line just like any other ride…..

  4. Just got back from a magical time in Disney world and we loved it. We rode rise of the resistance, slinky dog twice, smugglers run twice, toy story mania twice and Mickey and minnies new ride twice. We went on Wednesday dec 9 and had a great time. You need a fast phone to get a boarding pass.
