Hello everyone from a beautiful but very warm and windy day here at Walt Disney World! We had an exciting day filled with construction updates and cute treats. Let’s get started!
We started our day at EPCOT, where we were greeted at the entrance of the park with a construction update right away. The pavement work that had been going on for the past week or so at the base of Spaceship Earth has been completed, and the planters blocking the work from view have been removed.
At Innoventions East, pink board insulation has been placed up against the window above the temporary door facing Cool Wash. We suspect this is temporary, given the ill-fitting nature of this piece, but nothing is certain at this point.
Cast Members were checking on the Purple Martin nests when we went by today. Each pod has a little porthole in it so that the nests can be checked on without disturbing them.
The snack cart near Mouse Gear has reopened yet again. We saw it reopen several weeks ago for a very brief stint with basic offerings.
Today we saw it not only open, but this time with a menu, including the popular new “Seasonal Beer” offerings. The current “Seasonal Beer” options appear to be Bud Light and Ciderboys Strawberry Magic.
We had a fun morning at EPCOT, but we weren’t done just yet! Next, we headed to the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to check out some new Springtime treats.
Once there, we got to try two adorable desserts, the Easter Egg Hunt Cupcake and the Pastel Mickey Whoopie Pie. We love the presentation on both of these! For more pictures and information, including our full review on both, check out our article here.
Next, we headed to the Magic Kingdom, where we found some progress had been made on the recovering of the canopies at the Swiss Family Treehouse. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
It seems that not many pieces remain to be installed on the frame for the illuminated canopy of TRON Lightcycle / Run. Only a small portion remains without framework in place.
The brilliant blue roofs of Cinderella Castle are being repainted ahead of the mounting of additional decorations for the upcoming 50th Anniversary celebrations. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Progress is being made on the installation of the metal tubing on Cinderella Castle Stage, with roughly double the amount added since yesterday.
We found a second bunting decoration had been added overnight to both sides of Cinderella Castle. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
On our way out of the park, we got to wave hello to the lovely Tiana on the Royal Princess Processional. We love these moments with our favorite characters!
We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and Walt Disney World, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
