Hello from a lovely but overcast day here at the Magic Kingdom! It was thankfully finally a little cooler here in central Florida, and we took full advantage of the beautiful weather to come check out this magical park and whatever might be new there. Let’s get started!
Upon entering the park, we found The Confectionery and The Chapeau closed for refurbishment, but not blocked from view by construction walls as one might have thought.
The windows were covered in black plastic or cloth, and signs directing guests to the newly reopened locations now housing those items previously found at these locations were mounted on the doors and in the windows.
Main Street Cinema reopened as a temporary candy and sweets shop.
Likewise, Curtain Call Collectibles reopened as a temporary headwear and embroidery location in the Magic Kingdom.
While exploring these newly reopened locations, we noticed two new things, the first of which was this wall inside of Main Street Cinema. This is where the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom portal was inside this location, and it has been removed, making it the first part of the now-defunct game to be dismantled in the Magic Kingdom. We also found a new line of nut- and gluten-free snacks, called “Snacks With Character”. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Continuing our tour of the construction around the park, we found two more patches of fresh pavement in Tomorrowland, both along the front of Tomorrowland Speedway.
We also found this patch of scored concrete, signaling that the end is far from near when it comes to repaving this area.
Over at the construction site for TRON Lightcycle / Run, we saw the supports that we noticed had been removed from underneath the illuminated canopy before the weekend were being moved in the yard by crane. We would assume that these pieces will soon be loaded onto a truck and taken away.
Painting has begun on the Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak Station in order to bring this area back to it’s full glory in time for the 50th Anniversary celebrations to begin on October 1st, 2021. While these images were seemingly originally printed onto the structures, they are now being hand painted over, and the craftsmanship is quite impressive. New gold leaf has been applied to Prince Charming Regal Carousel, with all but two of the vignettes complete. When the light catches these lovely pieces, it is truly beautiful! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We found the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover not only testing today with full attraction audio playing, but we noticed Cast Members up on the load platform for most of the morning, including some that seemed to be training. We hope that means positive things for the projected reopening date next week! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We caught Jack Sparrow being silly in Adventureland today on our way through the park. We love these special moments with characters!
We found a few new pieces of merchandise to show you today, starting with this new denim hat featuring Mickey Mouse and his friends. We found this hat at Box Office Gifts for $27.99.
Next, we found the latest addition to the “Raya and the Last Dragon” merchandise collection with this new tumbler. The tumbler features a spinning straw topper with all three tiny mischief makers on it. This tumbler can be found at The Emporium for $14.99.
Our favorite find of the day were these new pastel rainbow Minnie ears, which we are loving for Spring. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
That’s Captain Jack Sparrow
He is, by far, the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.
