PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT 4/9/21 (New Spaceship Earth Lighting, Orange Bird Merchandise, and More)
Today’s visit to EPCOT is a big one following major announcements by Disney. We will be going over them in this photo report and linking to our posts so that you can read more details. Let’s get started!
Let’s start on the drive to the park: EPCOT Center Drive still shows no sign of changing yet. This entrance to the Walt Disney World Resort is up next to receive its 50th Anniversary makeover.
Work still continues in front of Spaceship Earth, though nothing notable can be seen on this side of the park icon.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is still being worked on, with no major changes made so far since our last update.
The Innoventions East breezeway is still being worked on. This area adjacent to “Mouse Gear” will become the new location of Club Cool. (You’ll see why we used quotations in just a second…)
And finally, lights are beginning to be placed on Spaceship Earth! They were hard to see at first because they are blended in so well. But if you are coming from Mouse Gear leaving the park, look at the backside of the geodesic sphere and you may be able to spot them.
No changes at Harmonious yet, but we can’t wait to see them act as fully operational fountains during the day to make the view a little nicer.
There are no changes along The Gran Fiesta Tour at the Mexico Pavilion. To sum it up best, we take a line from the ride: “Dónde está Donald?”
A new Orange Bird Tervis tumbler made a surprise landing at Port of Entry for the Flower & Garden Festival. You can pick one up for $26.99 while supplies last.
No changes can be seen in the Morocco Pavilion concerning the walled-off area and construction being done. From what we’ve discussed with Cast Members and theorizing, the restaurant is currently being worked on with some major changes in store for the future.
We ran into some princesses on our way around the World Showcase.
The Italy Pavilion still has its work cut out as the bridge work continues, refurbishing it to its former glory.
As for La Gelateria, we would love to show you more of the work being done, but sadly we aren’t tall enough.
Well, that’s all for today! There are some major changes in store, we’ll just have to wait and see how they turn out. Just know that we’ll be covering all of them in the days to come. For all your Disney updates, this is WDWNT signing off. Until next time!
